Confidentiality and Protection of your Personal Data

I am committed to preserving your confidentiality.

 

As a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to an Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy.

 

The therapeutic relationship is confidential, however, there are exceptions that may require me to share information with a third party, these are:-

 

If I become aware that you or someone else is at risk of harm.

 

If I become aware that a child or vulnerable adult is being harmed or is at risk of being harmed.

 

If I become aware of acts of terrorism, drug trafficking or money laundering.

 

If a court order is received and a legal obligation arises.

 

If I do have to extend confidentiality if possible I will only do so with your knowledge and agreement.

 

 

 

I have regular Supervision with a qualified Supervisor as a requirement of the BACP and it supports my work with you as your Therapist. I do not disclose any identifiable information to my Supervisor about you.

 

 

 

I take the privacy of your information very seriously and I will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the services you have requested. All documents including contact details, registration forms and any session notes are kept securely and you may have access to these if you wish.

 

 

You have the right to ask me to erase any information that I hold about you. This includes your personal information that is no longer relevant to original purposes, or if you wish to withdraw consent. In all cases and when considering such requests, these rights are obligatory unless it is information that I have a legal obligation to retain.
